Privacy Policy

RouteUp (the "App") is a mobile application that provides electric vehicle users with route planning and charging station management services. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the personal data collected, processed, and stored when you use the App. By downloading or using the App, you are deemed to have accepted this Privacy Policy.

Data We Collect
1.1 Data You Provide
•Name, email address, and password entered during account creation
•Vehicle information (make, model, battery capacity, charging type, license plate)
•Preferred charging networks and route options
•Information submitted via in-app feedback and contact forms
1.2 Data Collected Automatically
•Location data: real-time and historical location information used for route planning and listing nearby charging stations
•Device information: operating system, device model, app version, and unique device identifiers
•Usage data: session duration, features tapped, search queries, and in-app navigation behavior
•Crash reports: crash logs and error traces collected to improve app stability
1.3 OBD-II / Vehicle Data
If you choose to use the App with an OBD-II Bluetooth adapter (e.g. ELM327), the following vehicle data may be read:
•Real-time State of Charge (SoC)
•Estimated range
•Vehicle speed and power consumption
This data is processed only on your device and is not shared with third parties. Only anonymous statistical data may be transmitted to our servers.

Purpose of Data Use
The data we collect is used for the following purposes:
•Providing personalized EV route planning and charging stop suggestions
•Creating, managing, and securing your user account
•Monitoring app performance and detecting and resolving errors
•Developing new features and improving existing ones
•Fulfilling legal obligations and preventing fraud
•Sending service notifications and updates to users (with explicit consent)

Data Sharing
3.1 Service Providers
Your data may be shared with third-party partners who help us provide our services, strictly for that purpose:
•Firebase / Google Cloud: authentication, database, and analytics infrastructure
•OSRM / OpenStreetMap: route calculation services
•Charging network operators (ZES, Eşarj, Voltrun, etc.): charging station availability and pricing information
These partners process your data only for purposes we define; they may not use it for their own commercial purposes.
3.2 Legal Requirements
Data may be shared with competent authorities where required by court order, legal obligation, or the protection of public safety.
3.3 Data We Do Not Share
Your personal data is never sold or rented to third parties for advertising purposes.

Data Retention
Your personal data is retained for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Data required to be retained under legal obligations is kept for the periods prescribed by applicable law.

Security
Industry-standard measures are applied to protect your data:
•TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit
•Access control via Firebase Security Rules
•Passwords stored using secure hashing algorithms
•Regular security audits and vulnerability scans
No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately.

Children's Privacy
RouteUp is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect data from this age group. If you become aware that a child under 13 has provided data, please notify us; such data will be deleted immediately.

Under Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) and other applicable regulations, you have the following rights:
•To learn whether your personal data is being processed
•To access your personal data and request a copy
•To request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
•To request deletion of your personal data where certain conditions apply
•To object to data processing and request its restriction
•To exercise the right to data portability

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The App uses the Firebase Analytics SDK for session management and usage analytics. You can disable analytics data collection entirely from the app settings. If a web version of the App is used, browser cookies may also apply; these can be managed from your browser settings.

Third-Party Services and Links
The App may contain links to third-party services such as Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, or charging network operator platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services; we recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies.

International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed via Firebase infrastructure on servers within the European Economic Area (EEA) (eur3 – Europe region). Where necessary, transfers outside the EEA are carried out under appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notification or email. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
